For the last two years, Restore Oakland has been deep in the work of building a multiracial, working class base rooted in care, community safety, and economic sovereignty. In a time when systemic oppression, economic precarity, and political exhaustion are shaping so much of public life, we are continuing to invest in the steady and necessary work of integrating a healing justice praxis into our organizing.

We invite you to join Restore Oakland staff, members, and partners on Tuesday, September 15th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Understory for a conversation to:

  • share what we’ve learned in the field

  • share what it takes to build durable power through an anti-inflammatory organizing approach

  • what we believe our region needs to strengthen our strategies towards advancing governing power

From basebuilding small businesses and system impacted community members to running campaigns calling for investments in community based safety and behavioral health infrastructure, our work is grounded in the belief that healing and systemic change are inseparable.
