In honor of International Restorative Justice Week, join Restore Oakland and the American Friends Service Committee at the New Parkway Theater for a special documentary screening of Shakti Butler's Healing Justice and a community discussion after the film!

Healing Justice provides a powerful look into the causes and consequences of the current North American justice system and its effect on marginalized communities. The film walks back through the history of violence that has led to our current system, bringing into focus the histories of trauma - on a personal, interpersonal, community, and generational level. As we reckon with ongoing war, conflict, and crisis, globally and right here in Oakland, we are all responsible for taking up the work of collective care, organizing, and transformation that makes healing and justice makes possible.

We're thrilled to be taking over The New Parkway Theater for a night and exploring these themes with beloved community!

The New Parkway Theater is located at 474 24th Street, Oakland.
