Join Oakland and Alameda County small-business owners to discuss the proposed $30 minimum wage and what that could mean for local, small businesses, workers, and our community.

The proposal would raise the minimum wage gradually, based on business size. Large corporations would reach $30 an hour by 2030. Small businesses (25 or fewer employees) would have until 2037.

What could a higher minimum wage mean for local workers, small businesses, and the future of Oakland’s neighborhood economy?

At this town hall, you’ll hear directly from ballot initiative organizers from the Living Wage for All Coalition, and small-business owners. Together, we’ll make space for honest questions, real conversation, and ideate about how we can build an economy where workers and small businesses can build a united front.

Join us at one of our favorite worker-owner cooperatives, Understory, for food, and a juicy discussion on what a $30 minimum wage could mean for the East Bay economy.
